Our Story
About BISMI Aari & Mehendi Center
A home-based Aari embroidery studio in Pandaravadai, Thanjavur — built on patience, hand-craftsmanship, and taking on only as many orders as can genuinely get the time they deserve.
Who we are
I'm a homemaker from Pandaravadai, Thanjavur, dedicated to preserving the art of Aari embroidery. Every blouse, saree and lehenga that leaves BISMI is handcrafted with patience — each piece taking 30–50 hours per piece for full bridal work. I take only a handful of orders each month to make sure every one gets that time and attention.
Alongside Aari embroidery, I also make natural handmade henna cones — a small, separate extension of the same care that goes into the embroidery work.
At BISMI, tradition isn't just preserved — it's celebrated.
Where we work from
BISMI is based in Pandaravadai, Thanjavur — a town long associated with fine textile and embroidery craft in Tamil Nadu. Working from here keeps us close to the materials, tailoring and bridal culture that Aari embroidery is part of.
